Children Listen UP! The president is speaking...

Some of the controversy surrounding Obama's speech stems from a proposed lesson plan by the U.S. Education Department to accompany the address. An initial version of the plan recommended that students draft letters to themselves discussing "what they can do to help the president."

Another assignment for students after hearing the speech was to discuss what "the president wants us to do."
I try to imagine what I would have written when I was in school. I would have started the essay with, "Uhh... Uhh... Umm... Uhh..." When I was young there was a fishing show that my dad watched; it came on the local channel. The guy on the show would say "Uhh" before just about every word. One day my sister and I noticed this, and said something to my dad. He was trying to watch the show, and was telling us to keep it down. Then after a little while he noticed it too. "Uhh... you Uhh... take the Uhh... hook, and Uhh..." Then my dad started laughing and changed the channel. It was so bad he couldn't watch it anymore. I think we ruined it for him! It went down kind of like "More Cowbell" and the Blue Oyster Cult.
The president addressing school children is not in and of itself strange, but I can understand why people are upset about this. IT'S CREEPY! The president wants children to find ways to "help the president", and "discuss what the president wants them to do"? This sounds more like something that a Third-World dictator would say.
Why is everything so personal with this president? I think that worries people. Why not ask of the children, "What can you do for your community or country"? It is very strange that the president wants to inject himself into a classroom scenario, where he demands that children "help him", and understand what he is "doing for them". That is strange, at least in America.
I think it's going to go down like this... Obama is going to give a normal pep-talk speech to school children. Don't drop out, stay away from drugs, brush your teeth, the usual. Then democrats on the left are going to point at anyone who expressed misgivings about the speech and try and paint them as fools. By that time, the news about what the initial speech entailed will have been forgotten.

I agree, it's definitely creepy. I think it's one thing to address the nation, and have the choice of whether or not to watch and/or listen be left up to the adults. To specifically address schoolchildren only, with no public "preview" for parents and without children being given a choice as to the matter--there is something inherently wrong with that. No one has the right to "teach", "indoctrinate", or "influence" my child (take your pick of verbs, lol) without my consent. As a parent, I have the right to choose what and how much leftist propaganda that my child is exposed to. Thank heaven he is still a toddler and we don't have to deal with this situation personally. Yet. 
I think that many people have that feeling in their gut that something is wrong. 9 times out of 10 that gut instinct is correct.There has never been a time that I can think of; recently or historically, where the American people have been so afraid of their government. This is the United States! Of the people by the people, for the people right?
Ever hear of "conversational hypnosis?" Google it, especially with the word "Obama" in the search. It is the act of mildly hynotizing people through conversation. Obama is a master of it. Most lawyers utilize this with juries (need I remind you that Obama is a lawyer?).Basically, hypnosis works when the conscious mind is "put to sleep" by suggestion of the hypnotist. The hypnotist gets the conscious mind to "let its guard down" (thereby exposing the sub-conscience mind) by saying things that are uncontestably true. They say things like "The moment is now." Well, that's true. Now IS the moment. "We are standing here now." Well, that's true, too. "The time is now" and "We are the people we have been waiting for" "Yes, we can." All true statements.
SO, the conscious mind "trusts" the speaker, and "dozes off." The sub-conscious mind is now exposed for any suggestion that the speaker wants to place into it.
Please note: only the CONSCIOUS mind has the ability to discern truth from a lie. It's the rational and moral mind. The sub-conscious mind does not have this: anything put into the SUB-conscious mind is accepted by it as TRUTH. This is why we dream in the sub-conscious mind when the conscious mind is "turned off" and we awaken in fear because we have believed what was going on in the dream.
Once Obama puts the conscious mind on "sleep mode," like in talking to juries, or people on the campaign trail, or giving a speech to Congress OR TO SCHOOL CHILDREN, he can make subtle suggestions that will be BELIEVED AS TRUTH by the listener. And Obama, as is documented on videotape (google it or youtube it), did just that on the campaign trail. He said things at these opportune moments, like "You will vote for Obama when you go into the voting booth," etc ...
THIS is truly the danger of having a diabolical liar and evil narcissist like Obama taling to innocent, and undeveloped intellectually, children. It's not what he says to the conscious mind--it's what he SUGGESTS to their SUB-conscious mind.
