Obama is BACKPEDALING again... This is a good thing!

Now we have the great Obama backpedaling. If you paid close attention to what Obama promised during the Presidential Race – you would notice that he’s been backing off from legislation he was pushing from the beginning. Notice also that this is not due to economic reasons. It was not long ago that the American people were up in arms about a National Deficit to the tune of $8.2 trillion in 2006. Now it is speculated that the National Deficit could reach over $11.0 trillion. That is $11 trillion immediately after the signing of this “stimulus” bill! Ask yourself, have you heard anything about the National Deficit in the news? Isn’t it funny that when Obama wants to spend 900 billion with the stroke of a pen that there is no news concerning the National Deficit?
Obama’s promises to the Hard Left are being scaled back, or dropped completely. This is not due to a lack of funding. The media in this country has proven that Obama has no debt ceiling. Obama can charge it up as much as he wants.
I believe that the change in American opinion is not because of the financial aspect of this “stimulus” bill. I believe the change of heart is due to the fact that Obama is now in office. Now people are paying attention to what he is saying and what they see in this bill. Every time I hear of public support dropping for the “stimulus” bill it makes me feel better about my country. Maybe there is hope for the American people.
Speaking of backpedaling. Daschle is backing down from his appointed position now, because people found out what is going on. Remember if you are a member of the Obama Administration the truth hurts.
Obama:
"I consider this a mistake on my part, one that I intend to fix and correct and make sure that we're not screwing up again," Obama said. "Ultimately I have to take responsibility for a process that resulted in us not having a (health and human services) secretary at a time when people need relief on their health care costs.”
"So this is a mistake -- probably not the first one I'm going to be making in this office, but what I'm absolutely committed to doing is fixing it."
"We can't send a message to the American people that we've got two sets of rules -- one for prominent people and one for ordinary people."

What about his appointment to the office of Treasury Secritary, Timothy Geithner? Was he not also evading taxes? I’m afraid; Mr. Obama that there is a very large underlying message here. That message being - WE ARE IN POWER AND WE’RE GOING TO DO WHAT WE WANT! Obama already sent the message that he doesn’t care what is right and what is wrong. He is sometimes worried about public opinion though. That may perhaps be the only way to control this mess.
Tom Daschle gives himself a hand after EVADING TAXES FOR 3 YEARS...

So here we have another Obama appointee; Tom Daschle. The question at this point is not, why is he doing this? The question is, does he actually think that people are going to be o.k. with this?
The sad truth is that most people don’t even know who Tom Daschle is. When people are informed about this guy, and the problems he has gotten himself into – their opinions often change.
Most of us have heard that he was recently in trouble for TAX EVASION. That is the correct way to put it. Not, he paid $128,203 and $11,964 in interest late. He was trying (successfully) to evade the tax system. Just check out a few of Daschle’s quotes…
Tom Daschle:
"As you can well imagine, I am deeply embarrassed and disappointed by the errors that required me to amend my tax returns."
I’ve never understood when someone says that they are disappointed by their own actions. It’s not like he wasn’t there for it!
Tom Daschle:
On issues relating to taxes, you don't always speak with one voice.
I’m not entirely sure what he was getting at here. Maybe you can help me… I don’t think that he’s talking about The Exorcist…
This statement from John Kerry says it all.
John Kerry on NBC's "Meet the Press.":
"It's obviously a mistake. But I think it's an innocent mistake. I don't think it affects one iota his ability to do the job,"
on NBC's "Meet the Press."
Nor does it affect a con man’s ability to do his job. Is that “really” what we are looking at here? Just remember Kerry thought it was o.k. to make up stories about his military service. That wouldn’t affect his ability to do his job either, right?
Let’s put this in perspective; think about it this way. Imagine that you had failed to pay your taxes. You “forgot” to pay $120,000 dollars worth of taxes. Do you really think that you would get off that easy? Do you really think that a small business owner would get off that easy? Notice he didn’t pay any penalties. He only paid the tax amount and the interest. No fines or penalties.
Pay attention to the news. You will find that most of the media is going to give Daschle credit for coming out with the tax information. That’s right he’s going to get credit for airing the situation! Just my guess. He will get credit for breaking the law, and coming clean about it.
Tell me what you think…
It's Super Bowl Sunday!
With that in mind I'm taking the day off, I'll start back tomorrow. I won't forget about Tom Daschle's tax evasion though!
I can't believe that the Republicans in the House didn't cave!

This is the first time in a long time that I've been proud of the House Republicans! I thought for sure that there was going to be someone who would hold a press conference stating how this bill was needed.
I'm more impressed at the American people for actually catching on to the fact that there is no "crisis" that socialism can fix. Because let's face it, that's what this bill is trying to achieve. Let's go through some of the mess that is in this bill, shall we...

Now if you check into it you will find some very interesting facts. For example, The department of Homeland Security gets $2,000,000 while the Department of Housing and Urban Development gets $15,000,000! Let me just list a few here for you...
Department of Veterans Affairs office: $1,000,000
Environmental Protection Agency: $20,000,000
General Services Administration—General Activities—Office $15,000,000
Government Accountability Office—Salaries and Expenses $25,000,000, for oversight activities relating to this Act.
Funding for NASA, get this!
-NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE
ADMINISTRATION
SCIENCE
For an additional amount for ‘‘Science’’, $400,000,000, of which not less than $250,000,000 shall be solely for accelerating the development of the tier 1 set of Earth science climate research missions recommended by the National Academies Decadal Survey.
-AERONAUTICS
For an additional amount for ‘‘Aeronautics’’,
$150,000,000.
Well there you have it folks. NASA Gets 400 Million Dollars; of which more than half goes to climate research! Is it just me, or did NASA get busted recently for falsifying climate data. We don't need to spend $250,000,000 to "make up" climate data. What happened to space research anyway?
Even more interesting is the NASA Earth Science Mission Directorate.

I like the first sentence, "Earth is a complex, dynamic system we do not yet fully understand." Now lets make economic decisions based on something we "do not fully understand." Good Job!
