Amelia Has a Life of Her Own

Amelia started out as a government initiated “anti extremist” game.

Kind of like those work training videos, where you have to select the “correct” action based on some fictional scenario.

But Amelia backfired spectacularly. Not only that, but the story behind the character Amelia is even more bizarre.

The UK Guardian covered the Amelia meme.

One of the reasons they chose a goth chick was supposedly:

“There has been a lot of misrepresentation unfortunately,” he said. “The game does not state, for example, that questioning mass migration is inherently wrong.”

Others have suggested the initiative had backfired, not least by casting a “cute goth girl” as a negative character, leading to her inadvertently becoming a focus of admiration. But Bergamini said the game – which used feedback from focus groups with young people and was developed with a specific local threat picture in mind – continued to be used and feedback from schools and others was positive.

This is hilarious, because this makes the meme even more legit.

This suggests that there really is some place in the UK where there are goth chicks leading the charge against third world mass migration!
