You know, if the bank bailouts were necessary due to the mortgage crisis, why doesn&#039;t the bailout money count directly toward paying down individuals&#039; mortgages?  And the people who continue to pay their own mortgage should get an equal amount to spend as they wish.  This way the money could actually help everyone.  As it is you still have the people who couldn&#039;t afford the houses owing the same amount or more while the banks are only temporarily appeased.</description>
